Transcripts: All applicants must upload official transcripts from each college and/or university attended to your online application. There is no need to send official transcripts by mail to the department. If accepted to the program, then official transcripts will be required for verification.
Curriculum Vitae:
Resume: A resume is submitted online with the Biochemistry application.
Personal Statement:
Statement of Purpose: The statement of purpose is submitted online as part of the (Item 1) application process, and can be one to two pages long. The statement should cover topics such as which areas of molecular and cellular biology research interest you, which UW faculty members’ work particularly interest you, previous research experience or publications you may have, and your long-range goals.
Recommendation Letter:
Letters of Recommendation: Biochemistry applicants will be prompted through the on-line application process to designate 3 recommenders. The Graduate School will contact each recommender by email and ask him/her to fill out an attached recommendation form that will be submitted electronically to the UW. Applicants will be notified if a recommender declines. Biochemistry requires three letters of recommendation. Biochemistry applicants are urged to submit only three unless special considerations are involved. The Biochemistry Program only accepts online recommendations.
